Go to hobby town and get the super glue gel in the red bottle, it is $9 .
As for the skimmer hose, yes pull the old one off and slide a new one on, it should be easy to do without removing the skimmer

That is actually up for debate.

Im not sure who yall are reffering to? But my nuggets were snipped.

HEHE! Better snipped and still active than not getting any at all! Just ask brandon, But im sure the way you talk you dont get any either! LOL :D

Wow, nice conversation guys..... You all are lucky that any of you get any if you treat your wives as poorly as me!!! So everybody has been snipped except for Brandon (and I would guess Alex and Andy since they are the youngest in the group- Brandon isn't THAT young.....), and he's not getting any for fear of pregnancy? They have things that prevent that, you know..... I hope Patrick is snipped now that he learned that breast feeding doesn't keep you from getting pregnant didn't really work (the OB docs tell you that so that they can have repeat customers, LOL!!!).

Back to the topic, I've been adjusting my skimmer and there's a fine line between really thick nasty skimmate and really wet voluminuous stuff (nearly flooded the livingroom if I hadn't caught it in time- daughter walked by and said "ooooo, what is this all wet from"- duh.... close call). I'm still trying to adjust it to take more out without doing a water change (probably dumped about 3 gallons on the floor with above event...). My nitrates were less than 1 when checked, but my Kh was still around 7-8 (they say that's normal, but isn't that a tad low?). Ph is holding steady at 8.2. Water still looks yellow/greenish, but I have calerpa in my fuge.

And my blue tang looks worse. I'm prepared for another death. He looked so bad (cloudy eyes now) that I did a 60second fresh (RO) water bath and put him in the refugium just so he could not get picked on and maybe have a chance at eating. He's eating the calerpa now, but wouldn't eat any brine or mysis. Purple still has a lot of spots, but he's letting the shrimp clean him and he's eating very well. and Bryan, I hate you. Just flaunt your powder blue tang...... You must have gotten him first before any other tangs....

yeah im not snipped either and after sunday i may be the youndest member lol( 19 ) but yeah any way i know your pain on that fine line because when i set my skimmer up i wasent thinking and closed the gate vavle almost all the way and alot of water started to come out quikly but me and him are on good terms now lol

Andy will be the youngest if he joins. He's 13 or 14 now. That will mean that Alex is pretty darn old. What? he must be 23 or 24 maybe? Wow!! How old!!!

yall better watch out for us young bucks lol are brains havent lost quit as many cells yet. but i guess that doesnt matter as long as the important ones are still there.

o i know lol but this is oftopic but you think i could get away with 2 250 20 k MH and 2 retro t5 for supplement lighting on a 125

ya, you can get away with that, The key is one 250 watt halide for every 2ftX2ft square. So you could go with two or three halides with a 125. t5s can fill the difference

yeah i think im going to mount 2 halides and run the t5's toward the middle were there wont be a halide unless it becomes a must. but does any know if donny can get 2 72'' t5ho retro kit or am i just going to have to use the 48'' i cant seem to find any of the 72's online or maybe im not looking in the right spot. and ive decided to basicaly start clean on this one and keep the 75 up and running just move it out of my main eyeline to the fishroom in the works i have going on. every extra tank i can get my hands on will be filled with water and kept back there currently i have a DIY fuge, sump and DT plumbed to a skimmer in the fish room via pvc through the wall and ill be moving the 75 back there once the new tank is here to leave me room to measur cut holes in glass and stand and get everything plumped in once its plumbed i will do a FW leak test then the sand and nsw and dry rock with about 10 -15lbs live rock to seed everything and then wait till the cycle gets done im unsure if i will put any lighting above the tank untill after the cycle. ( also it will let my budget recover and get my lights paid off hopefully) but will ofcourse be skimming the tank full force and should i have a ton of flow going on through the cycle to help keep any build up at bay? sorry its been so long since ive started new ive had to rescape and move the tank befor but used all the same rock and kept it stored in water and used all but 20% of the mature water( 3 years old) but i just want this one to put together right the first tim unlike the 75 witch as had to have nothing but upgrades for the last 2 years dues to a year of bad advice and bad equipment( 2 H.O.T magnums w/ biowheel they were never set up correctly either) and 2 power heads and PC lighting lol o and dont forget that dang sea clone 100. now its a 29 tal sump pura pads skimmer suction line heater skimmer drain line then return pump (mag7) a DIY fuge (ghetto rigged for sure but very low flow fuge) skimmer prescion marine ap bullet 2 w/genx external pump. plan on using the skimmer on the new 125 sump and fuge will stay with the 75 i think or maybe just the sump and i could used the twin 35 setup again ( 35gal fuge and 35galDT)

Just a thought, but tommy has a 4ft dual HQI pendant with built in T5s he going to be selling, might be good for you?
