Skimmer ??

Just placed my first skimmer, Bubble magus C5. The instructions translated almost into English from Chinese.
It's working, apparently, but I have a question. I get the most lift with the tube set on minimum and no lift set on
maximum. It some times stops for a while then starts again. Is slowly collecting a semi gelatinous yellow substance
as the foam settles. Is it function properly, thank you all.

Its gotta break in, and will be a bit funky and touchy until that time, but it sounds as if you've gotten it set up properly.
