Hi,
I bought a piece of liverock and got a couple of hitchhikers.
Could someone please help me identify what they are, and if they are safe or of concern.
They look kind of like a slug, or a snail without a shell.
When they move around, they are dark in colour and have a snout.
But sometimes that go into a ball and have a shiny white colour.
The attached pictures are of the same creature!

First pic sort of looks like a chiton, but the lower pic looks like a cowrie?
Also in the differential would be sea hares or nudis, or even snails that have lost their shells?
No expert, just a few guesses

Thanks!
I have looked up pictures of all the things you mentioned, but nothing seems quite like these.
Perhaps they are just snails that lost their shells.
I actually quite like them - interesting how they change their appearance.

Yes I think it is a cowrie, I found this article, which looks identical.
