Yesterday I changed my ATO pump and last night it dumped around a gallon into my ~48 total gallon system. Parameters were Alk 9.0 and SG: 1.025. Now Alk is 8.5 and SG is 1.0247 (tropic marin hydrometer). Would that salinity change cause that big of an alk drop?

I measure alkalinity every day and I happened to measure salinity the day before.

I plan on just raising the salinity back up with evaporation I was in the middle of raising it to 1.0255.
That is all I should do right?

If you have corals, that .5 drop could be normal usage by them.

Yea, just let the water evaporate to raise your salinity slowly and back to the previous reading.

I just figured out my soda ash doser was not primed. My alks been dropping about 0.3 a day. I also dose AFR. I tested the doser yesterday and it worked. Then today alk continued to drop so I tested it again and nothing came out. It is only 2 ml/min so I was not running it long enough to fully prime.

yeesh...
