Just setting up a brand new 50g AIO.

I filled it up with about 10g of water and noticed there is a small slow leak of water from the display portion of the tank into the bottom AIO chamber. My understanding is these are supposed to be watertight, but I know the Fluval evo13.5 has a direct hole cutout into the AIO chambers.

Is this normal, or an issue? My fear is that the flow into the AIO chamber will increase over time.

Any input is appreciated before I fill the tank up any more.

I have limited experience with AIO but when I filled my IM 20 I had no water flow into the back chamber until the level reached the wier teeth. I would assume they should all be the same since the chambers are siliconed to the tank :thinking-face:

My thoughts as well. Hard to find information one way or another on if the rear chambers are supposed to be 100% water tight.
The leak is VERY slow. Water level in the rear chambers rises by maybe 1/4" per hour, but I don't have full head pressure since the tank isn't full yet. I didn't even notice the leak until I left the tank overnight and saw the rear chambers had filled up in the morning.

The only thing that I think would be a concern is trying to keep the back chamber lower than the display so you have the flow needed going down into the other chambers. I would think with a leak over time the levels would try to equalize between the display and back chamber but maybe not :thinking-face:

I’ve seen this quite a few times over the last few years. Often you can silicone it easily, but the reality is water leaking slowly into the filter chambers won’t impact anything.

Ideally there would be a sponge between the leak area and the pump, but even if that’s not possible it should be the end of the world.
