Pics are fuzzy but may be either spirobid worms or a substance known as dictyota

not the worms
looked at dictyota and maybe this is a super early stage but it looks more coral/ tunicate

i have a couple lbs of aussie liverock but because of shipping didn’t think tunicates would be possible

Need clearer pics as these pics are quite dark. Add white light intensity

I'll take a closer look tomorrow (my phone is terrible for ID's unless the pics are super clear), but when you say this, do you mean each "polyp" is a bunch of tentacles sticking off a central stalk (i.e. stalk on bottom and tentacles on top), or does this look like a stalk coming out from the center of a bunch of tentacles (i.e. tentacles on bottom and stalk on top)?

I ask because it looks like each "polyp" has eight "tentacles" coming off which makes me wonder if it could be an octocoral.

still trying to get clearer photos or find more so i can take them out and get close

tentacles sticking off a central stalk and in small multiple groups
they’re in a semi shaded spot but do get plenty flow

As @ISpeakForTheSeas mentioned, if each "stalk" has 8 petals/tentacles, it's likely an octocoral (clove polyps and the like).

just took a look and they are closed along with everything else now that the lights are off
seems to be that, i’ll look more into octocorals and the likes

thank you !

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
