Hey all, i have a 40 gal reef tank, WAY too small for a tang. These are one of my favorite fish because of their shape. I will not put one in this tank because i know itll grow it out and i dont want to rehome a fish and cause more stress. Are there dwarf versions of tangs or a fish that look similar for this size tank?

That’s like me I love tangs and wish I would have went with a bigger tank lol

Yeah, dwarf angel fish have a similar shape to a tang. Check out a flame angel or a dwarf yellow angel. They are great substitutions.

Also, Ocellate Damselfish, the Starcki Damsel, Four Stripe Damsel or even the azure damsel have that flat body like a tang. These are also great alternatives.
