This is a very rough draft of my idea for a float switch box. I want my sump to look clean I cant seem to find an off the shelf float switch holder that i like. I just got back from the plastic store and scored all kinds of 1/4 scrap that i can play with. this is what I came up with. A small box with cut outs so water can enter and medium to large snails cant. It will be secured to sump via magnets. Any thoughts criticism on this?? Will it work? My ATO will be apex controlled and I have two switches in the design just in case one fails. I am actually thinking about doing this sort of set up to hold all my probes, and a third float switch at the return pump height just in case water gets to low in the sump.

Seems like overkill, which isn't that common in this hobby :]

Aquahub sells a slosh and snail guard for less than $2: that's what I use, works great!

+1 Actually a RX bottle with a couple holes drilled cost you nothing.

Fancy design, but it reminds me of a Rube Goldberg. I'd also be leary of magnets below the waterline unless encased in plastic. I've seen magnet failures from reputable suppliers.
