Snail/Whelk/guy id?

Hi r2r’ers! I am very new to the marine world and have found this one guy in my tank and was wondering if anyone could Id it! I’ve taken it out of my tank for now & for better pictures. Thanks anyone who can figure it out and Im hoping i’ve done this right

just to clarify, both pictures are the SAME snail.

Looks like a nassarius snail to me
Thank you! Should I pop him back in the tank? I only ask as its the size of a rice grain and ill probably never find it again in the tank haha

I can’t see but if it has a mottled siphon and never goes under the sand then it’s a predatory whelk , here is a picture of one from my tank. If the siphon is one color and it goes under the sand it’s a good guy.

Ill keep an eye on it! tank is so new that he’s the only inhabitant. Cant tell what colour the siphon is either as it’s probably smaller than a grain of rice. But thanks for the input 👍
