That's the tough part with clams when u get to notice something is wrong it's already gone.

Nassarius snails have a solid white snorkel and are not harmful. Whelks, which are clam predators, have rings on their snorkels. Both are very similar in appearance and the snorkel is what's different. Sorry for your loss...

Glad you said that because I have Nassarius snails with dark snorkels, had me worried for a second.

Not at the moment but I'll try to take some. A couple are definitely Tongan.
