I want more!!!
So my wife and I go to my parents house for dinner this evening. Our kids were
already there from staying the night the day before. As we get there my sister is leaving. She had to run back to work to take care of something real quick. When she came back she has these 2 baby turtles that she bought on her way back (probably 1.5" each red ear sliders). problem is this guy was selling them out of the back of his car in about 35 degree weather and their water was freezing. Other problem is my sister has no business having pets (I won't get into all this). She was not prepared for them and is now at our town Walmart trying to get accommodations in place. Our Walmart doesn't have much in the realm of reptile if anything. I just can't understand people impulse buying animals then scrounging to accommodate. She gets here with them and does nothing about them being so cold. I get up to look at them, open the tiny kritter keeper (maybe 5"x3") and touch them. They are so friggin cold and they aren't moving. I run to my parents bathroom and grab their heating pad to get the water and them warmed back up. Then I run to the sink and start running hot tap water to set the container in to get them warm a little quicker. All of this and she is not acting very concerned or even trying to help. All she can say is she was so glad to see my truck when she pulled up cuz I'd know what to do. One of the turtles seams to be doing ok and has become fairly active the other doesn't seam very well. It is alive but will only move if I put mild pressure on its shell. It'll try to free itself but as soon as I remove my hand it is back to being still.
So frustrating!!! GRRR!! People just shouldn't make these kinds of impulse buys and what makes it worse is it's my own dang sister doing this stuff.
