Hello everyone! I have decided to start my own build thread to keep up with my tank progress. So, to start out I am slightly new to the saltwater scene. I have always kept freshwater tanks and other aquarium animals but have always wanted a reef tank. Now I'm border line obsessed! I was originally trying to find everything to start a tank from scratch, but I was lucky enough to come across one of my friends that was actually getting out of the hobby and sold me his entire setup! Fortunately I found it, because I'm not gonna lie, I was a little intimidated by the cycling process of getting a tank started and honestly, I wanted to get started right away on adding cool new things to the tank. My tank is a 40g breeder and was pretty plane and a little sad when I first got it. The tank only had a few fish (2 clowns, 2 damsels, and a diamond goby), a few corals and rock, a small cleanup crew, and an anemone. The tank was being ran with a fluval canister filter, a hang on skimmer that I'm still not sure the brand, and a cheap amazon light.

Within a couple weeks i added more rock and maybe 1 or 2 corals.

Now I'm about 3 months into the build and I'm loving the progress so far! I have changed the amazon light out for 2 Reefbreaders LEDs, also added lots of coral and a big coral banded shrimp. Sadly, my anemone moved one night, and I found him upside down in the sand with a mouth full of sand the next morning. I tried to put him in a low flow spot and give him a little extra TLC but unfortunately, he didn't pull through. Everything else in the tank has been doing great!

I haven't been able to add any fish yet because I don't have a QT setup but hopefully will have one soon! More pics and updates to come!
