I have noticed that, if it's in with a lot on leathers, it doesn't do as well. For years, I thought it was some sort of toxin or chemical warfare. I was way overcomplicating it. It turns out, it's nutrients. They compete for the same things. I can't remember the author but there was an article in FAMA about using xenia to filter a "stony coral" aquarium.

The best bet is flake food dropped right in the xenia.

It works.

Yes, unless you have a phosphate issue then make sure you get one that doesn't have a lot or any.
sounds good. do pellets work the same way for that or are flakes easier to digest in terms of coral?

Honestly only did it with flake. I used Omega 1 with garlic for a long time. Had the prettiest xenia in that tank. That was the one that got vandalized years ago.
i feed those flakes twice a week for my fish, ill just target feed the xenia those two times a week

Thanks Dantimdad :)
