Hi, so I am recently experiencing this strange changes in some of my mushrooms. It is an LPS, softy tank and most everything except some mushrooms are turning white. Has anyone run into this before? I know that my phosphates are high but nitrate at about 5. All other parameters are right on where they should be.

Thanks. So, the question I have is what would cause that to occur? especially when other mushrooms in particular look just fine. I hate to freak out and start trying to lower phosphates as an example as it can have worse impact on other corals in the tank. Thanks

I see, these are some new purchases. Hard to say, but could be that some parameter(s) is quite different from where they originally came from, so maybe look into that angle.

Transport shock of some sort, maybe. There isn't much you can do if others in the tank are OK. It will probably be OK if it is just zoox being expelled as opposed to something more problematic (like a pathogen). I'd post in the soft coral forum here.

Form or function: Do you consider your rock work to be art or the platform for your coral?
