Was sold as a chalice in an auction . After research I believe it’s a mycedium

Is it just me or does this look like a photo of a bomb going off? I absolutely love this!! Mycedium you say? I will have to look into getting one of those. How long have you had it? How fast does it grow? Anything special it needs besides lower light levels?

This is the original piece on a 3” disc that was in my 100 gallon tank at the time under leds. I sold a chunk to my lfs and lost my colony when I switched tanks 3 yrs ago. 2 yrs ago I got a piece back from lfs. This tank is lit by ATI 8x80 watt and two xho’s and now is completely different color . It’s been awhile since I researched this but mycedium is actually in the chalice family. And yes it looks like an explosion
