Some sort of color less green star polyps? I'd please

I picked this up at the lfs for $10. I've had it for two months and haven't be able to Id it. It's growing on a mat like a green star polyp and is spreading down the frag plug.

Look like star polyps but I've never seen them bleach....

I know. I don't think they are bleached gsp. I picked up a second frag on Wednesday for my mothers tank at the lfs and the employees there still don't know what they are. A guy trades them in for credit.

Encrusting gorgonian. It can be invasive, so keep it isolated.

It is most likely an encrusting form of bryarium or corky finger.

The branching stuff is kind of cool but the encrusting stuff will just oose all over your rocks.

See if you can find some of the branching stuff and lay it out diagonally.
New branches will bud off the length of the stem.

You can also prune a long stem and just stick it back in the rocks and it will encrust in about 2 weeks.

I can shorten them by pruning but I haven't been able to get it to branch into two stems by pruning. Just by laying it more on its side and getting it to Bud out along the length of the stem.
