I have a piece of monti that has been nawed on and I'm wondering if this could have been one of my long spine erchins. Has anyone had a problem with them doing this? I have had one in the tank for about 2 years now and never had a problem with it. I just recently added a second one to the display. Found this this morning when i got up.

An urchin would not have done this, its possible that something fell on/ hit the monti which caused some breakage. Perhaps a hermit crab jumped on it.. You don't have a parrotfish, correct?

Nothing to fall on it and no parrot fish. I have not check for the nudis but ill look for them. What would be a predator of those little guys? How big could these buggers be?

looks like another victim of the midnight coral chewer. This time it hit a piece of chalice. Not sure if this could be those dam nudis that were mentioned earlier but hope i figure this out before i actually lose something to this coral bandit

I've had hermits pick the food out of corals before and damage them, which is why I only have snails now. You may have to stay up with a red flashlight and watch to see what's happening.

I put a 4 wheel drive goby in there a while ago but im pretty sure my corral banded shrimp got him . I 1 clown, 1 damsel, 1 six line, 2 long spine erchins, 1 corral banded shrimp, and the cuc in there. I have added some new corral recently from tidal gardens. The perites rock couldn't be dipped so i wonder if i brought something in on that....

Monti eating nudis will eat a chalice? Are you sure? Do they eat anything else?
I had an infestation and they were munching on my chalice, they also eat scrolls. Not sure if it was a one off but they were eating it.
