Something on my hammer

Hello. I’m mid way through a tank clean and water change and have noticed something on my hammer. It’s like a thin fine string coming out of it and it’s caught some algae from the rock work. Is this something I should be worried about ?

Vermetid snail? That's what the thread looks like. They are pests but not really all that harmful IMHO.

Takeal a turkey baster and suck it up til its all the way inside then use the tip to break it off the rocks and squirt it down the toilet. Hydroids is my guess. No need to panic and good/easy to remove when possible and easy like this when you can... Imo

It’s a vermetid snail….you can see the base and its tube in the third pic. A dab of super glue on the top of its tube will seal off its chamber and kill it. Bumbles bee snails also hunt them and kill them.
