I have had the fish for about three months now, been eating well just up till yesterday. Yesterday he had some nori and mysis ate them well, today is not participating in the usual ritual of feeding.

Water parameters are 0 ammonia 20 ppm nitrate 0 nitrite in 8.2 pH

It seems like there is a scale kind of peeling? Or shedding off the tail end.

Any help would be appreciated thank you, tanks been running for 11 months. It's the biggest fish in the tank so no one ever bothers him, even when he hangs close to the clownfish and their anemone

These guys are notorious for having ich. Just quarantine him add some copper and he will be fine.

I'll call the reefsquad to take a look, but he has a lot of little spots on him - Could be ich or velvet.

The experts will know for sure.

I agree with getting it into a QT tank (along with any other fish) for treatment.

But, this looks like ich. I would just quarantine it just to be safe

He looks to have ich for sure. The white piece on the tail could be a few different things, but it's difficult to tell from the picture. It could be lympho, an infection or even an injury to name a few. A better, clearer picture would help probably.

Oh the white spots or specs besides the scale looking marking is actually from the water column. Just finished feeding and the sand sifting Goby was kicking up all kinds of sand, under white lights I can't see any other marking than the tail.

I will quarantine though, what medication should I try that would cover the basis without putting the guy under too much stress? I have a 5 gallon tank for hospitalizing
