Started my cycle 01/04 with microbacter xlm and dr tims ammonia. Ammonia was 2ppm and was zero 01/09..nitrite measured 2ppm Nitrate 0. 01/11 nitrite 2ppm Nitrate 20ppm. The nitrite and Nitrate have stayed that number since that date. Dosed ammonia to 2ppm 02/03 on 02/04 measured at 1ppm 02/05 was 0 ppm. Nitrite 2ppm Nitrate 20. What do I do? Water change to drop nitrite/Nitrate? Add fish? Continue doing nothing and wait? 02/04 red cyano is starting to grow on rock now.

It is finished.
Lower nitrates by a water change is correct.
I might increase water flow inside the tank to discourage red cyano growth. Blow it off with and remove with the water change.

Once you have ammonia being processed all the way to nitrate, the tank is cycled.

I would add a fish or two, and do a water change if you're concerned about the cyano (siphon it out with the water change).

And just an FYI, there is a constant source of ammonia with fish being added. This means you may test later on down the line and have ammonia in the .25ppm. This does not mean anything is wrong.

You could add some additional bacteria if you are super concerned about it.

Your tank is ready to go! Let’s hope everything goes smoothly. Good luck with the new tank!

Nice!! I was waiting and waiting for nitrite to zero. Going to siphon out that cyano increase flow tonight and add 2 fish Saturday. Red firefish and a Citron goby woot!!
