Gotta be a typo, there would be pipes blowing out all over town. :)

Get a pressure gauge and check at the input side of the membrane, then after it. This will tell you what you're looking at.

Spectrapure units come with a pressure gauge on the inlet side of the membrane. Do the steps I mentioned already and it will tell the story.

Ok we just got city water last year, thank god I hated well water. We have a 1" line coming into the house. Once the line enters there is a pressure gadge. It reads 200psi. Then it flows thru a pressure regulator which you could lower or raise your houshold pressure. I manullay cranked up the inside pressure becuace of this RO issue.

personally that first guage looks like it could be a little messed up. it apears to be an oil filled gauge but most oil filled have more oil in them. there isnt much left in it and it may be slightly out of calibration. 200 psi is a lot of water pressure.

we have a villa in Ricon, on the beach. We love it. We go a lot. Used to go once a month now once every two or three months because its always booked

That's the same unit I have.......If pressure is lower then 35-40psi it will not shut off. Usually it only drops below 60psi on my system if the sediment filter(first one on left), or the Carbon block filter(second one from left) is clogged or spent.



Although I do not see the automatic shut off valve in your picture, is it behind the RO housing?
