SPS browned up/lost colour

hey guys
I'm reasonably new to SPS and my pink lemonade piece has gone real dark and brownish.
I was wondering what the cause of this could be?
My magnesium did drop down a bit over the past 2 weeks, but not sure if that could be the cause?
Cal 430
Alk 8.2
Mag was 1320 dropped to 1200 :(

But really wanting to know what the cause could be in your opinions?

I feel your pain.

What is your nitrate and Phosphate at. In my opinion a little bit of high phosphate have always browned mine out.

P04 I'd 0.02
And N03 is 0

I'm sure it's not the nutrients levels as its only darkened up my strawberry shortcake piece, but polyps are not extending B to much on the other pieces, but have their colour still.

Color chock.
It can happen to some SPS.
Your system has different parameters than the system it comes out.
As mentioned by @JaimeAdams that nutrients can be the leading factor on a browned out SPS.
Your Po4 isn't bad but your No3 should never be 0.0
What kind of test kit you using?
How long is the tank running?
What kind of light you have over the tank?

Why would the rest of the SPS be ok and one not? Only one has gone brownish, and it doesn't look like a nutrients issue. I've had that before on SPS and this looks totally different.
I'm isong Red Sea test kits
I have 2 x Radion XR30 gen 3's
Tank been running about 18 months

Some corals are more difficult than others.

My pink lemonade (God rest it's soul) lost its color while others nearby gained color. Maybe your PAR isn't so bright where it's at? Maybe your phosphates are higher than the test shows due to being used up by algae? Is your tank free of algae?

From what I understand, loss of color due to low nitrates causes corals to go bland rather than darken. I'd suspect it's either upset with the change in conditions, or your phosphates are higher than you think.

My Hanna shows 0 phosphates but I also have a squeaky clean tank.

I re did all my tests
p04 is 0.04 and n03 is 0.75
Nothing bad there. Nothing other than a small algae build up on my glass over a few days.
Maybe I can turn my lights up a little?
It's weird as all Te other seem fine.

We call it nature finds it way.
Can't explain and nobody got a answer why is it that only one coral does that.
I had a awesome 6" TCK Mardi Grass colony and took two frags of two weeks ago, made the whole colony go STN except the two frags, make you wonder :(.
If you long enough in the SPS you will have a frag tank or two with all back ups of the corals in your tank just in case, and if you don't good luck on finding some of the same corals again as in my case it's a collection of corals that aren't around any more or hard to find.
For example, I have three mini colonies of the Original Purple Monster going and one colony in my DT.
Been there done that and won't happen again.
Those two frags TCK Mardi Grass won't be for sale till I got an nice colony going in the next six months.

IME if something is brown it means it is full of nutrients without enough light. The zooxanthele browns as its not being processed with enough light.

Try finding a place in your tank with slightly higher PAR and see if that helps. I wouldn't necessarily turn up the lights if all your other SPS are happy. Just try moving the one that isn't doing well..

My pink lemonade did the same thing when I first bought it. Turned an almost brown /purple on a rock that was covered with nicely colored frags. Stayed that way for 2 months and now looks awesome. I'm no expert but it's seems like there's quite a few reasons why a coral may brown out temporarily(not just nutrients and light). Most of my sps colors are great but I still have a few turds that just refuse to color up... Think it's just the way it goes sometimes. If parameters are in check it will come around
