Hi I’ve had some sps for a while and they seem to be incrusting well and some even showing growth tips but most of them are really full compared to when I got them is this because low nutrients and how do I go about coloring them up

It could be a few things, such as lighting too high, nutrients too high/low, or some trace elements are low. I would check your par, nitrates, and make sure to keep up on water changes if that is what you replace trace elements with.

So let's see a picture of this system and a close up of any coral for a better idea then the juices will flow

So how old is this system and how was it started ?

It looks very young and dry rock started, I'd say it looks also like possible low light and low nutrients and lack of bio diversity I don't see any fish or inverts or any algae in the tank..if you aren't growing algae acropora is going to have a hard time.

B4 I jump to conclusions what is the background of this system age and parameters with out us having to do to much digging what do you think is going on?

Yeah looks a tad immature for SPS. Just keep your expectations modest for a while as your biome matures. Meaning, don't spend a ton of cash on SPS until you can keep some basic ones going for 3-6 months.

Patience is your friend. I have some brown turds in my tank too. Hopefully they will come around and color up. they are encrusting and some even have growth tips too. But I am fighting very low NO3 and I think that might be the cause for me. But just stay steady buddy, it will work itself out.

Have you used this thanks for the link I just installed it I will check it out later, how did it work for you, doest it do good enough for getting In the ballpark?

Yes. It's a bit difficult to use (you need to waterproof your phone in a ziploc bag and submerge, then play around with angles to get consistent measurements) but it works in a pinch and is seemingly accurate enough for a ballpark idea of PAR.
