So after several years at being an unsuccessful SPS keeper, I'm getting deeper into my tank and its stability. I have a question about this frag that I picked up. I picked it up at a quality LFS near me (2hrs away is as close as it gets lol). The base of the frag was nearly black, when I put it in my system around a month ago maybe a little longer. I'm getting good PE and the color is starting to come out in the base. I'm not seeing any growth yet and that's ok I guess. In the picture you can see two odd nubs at the top of the frag they really don't have any polyps and the one has a pair of what appear to be tentacles coming out of it. I'm wondering if this is a pest? Should I clip those off, or just roll with it? I don't have a QT setup yet, and I didn't dip this coral. It seems to be healthy otherwise and I'm hoping my efforts in stability will pay off. 2.PNG cor.PNG

Vermetid snail. Definitely clip it at it's base and remove it from the tank. They multiply fast once they get introduced. I'd check the frag for others as well.
