The montis were encrusting so fast they were taking over all available space.....this colony started from a small quarter sized frag. That entire island was covered within a short amount of time. Once it encrusts you can't just break it off unfortunately.

Beautiful montis but I can see how they could make it difficult for lower corals in the tank.

Beautiful for 5 months time. What is your secret to SPS growth?
No secret really. NSW big 3.
Po4<.1
No3 <3
Sg 1.0265-1.027
Temp 80° but frag runs 82° and the 20g nano runs 84° due to temp controlled snake room of 80°.
10% WC once a month on all 3 systems.
I dose Dsr Ez trace daily.
Currently dosing esv 2 part once a day on the nano and 80g.
Carx not needed on 80g yet.
15ml of 1&2 twice a day to keep alk at 7 in the frag system.
Good lights! I run all led now on all systems which is a change from all halides.

Stabilty as to how you define the range of set parameters. Focus on keeping them in range and it becomes easier to keep your systems stable.

Jeeeeeze it's really looking good, the colors are just amazing, I can't imagine in person! How are you keeping nutrients up in that thing, are you feeding heavy or dosing something? So much color popping there!! Awesome tank when's the 1000g coming?
3 fish and I feed heavier than most but not excessive and all frozen.
Po4 was .144 last test so 1tbs gfo in a bag. Have not checked in a week so I need to.

I currently dose 11ml 1&2 of esv 2 part once a day for an alk of 7.
2ml of ez trace a day and 1 2g WC a month.
Also run 1 cup rox in a bag and have 3 baskets in the 3rd chamber running 2 with eheim substrate pro and 1 matrix.

The color is from the 16hds and the settings im running. Same on my 45 frag system.

Im running 2 16hds on my 80g to fix the flatness of the 2 xr15 blues.

Yes its not an issue if its kept stable. Most reefs in the wild are at similar temps.
Mine vary about 2°f between day and night.
My other system in the other room runs 78-80°f.
