Hey reefers,

Just wanted to ask a simple question. I currently dose my tank with esv and it's the only thing I add to my water. I was on Polyplab's website and was looking at some of their additives. Anyone use or have an opinion on the RF fuel or the genesis products? Is dosing amino acids worth it? And Are there any other well known additives for growth and color for SPS that won't affect water parameters? Thanks everyone !

Maintaining a stable system and correct parameters, constant ALK, temp, high flow, correct lighting, right Cal/Mag. These are what will give you color AND growth. Once you have all the above figure out and want to explore some of those options then you should, carefully.

I personally dose the following:
Kalk in ATO
2-Part ALK/Cal/Mag
Potassium Nitrate (stump remover in water)
KZ-Phol's Xtra
KZ-Coral System
I was adding AA before I got the nitrate.

I run a ULNS so these additive supplement that a bit. I also use carbon and heavy skimming which can remove some elements. However I dose only half what the manufacturer recommends or less. I like moderation. I already had growthbut because my fish had to be removed for QT my nutrients dropped and colors faded. I only add some to make up for lack of food, that's all. I already had healthy corals.

Get healthy growing coral first then look and see what your needs are. If you need a product then give it a try. Most products if not all, out side of two-part sups., are not needed at all. Can be a huge waste of money and cause problems or an imbalance.
