Potassium nitrate is your best friend it can also boost your potassium levels I'm happy to hear your experiences with elevated nutrients
I think and believe that once your tank has matured enough that you have little or no nuisance algae, is when your in the clear to have elevated NO3, following the rules of PO4. This also depends on how many corals you have and how healthy they are. Then the uptake of " liquid" nutrients then can happen by the corals with little ill effects algae wise. Then the corals can out compete any nuisance algaes. This by no means allows you to dump more foods (which have PO4 naturally) in the tank that aren't consumed.
This is why Sanjay and others can get away with NO3 so high.
Defiantly a balancing act. But once achieved, amazing results happen.
