sps smells bad???

never over the years had it occurred to me that corals have a smell, i work with an aquarium service company and we have some frag tanks i service regularly and on the sps side as soon as those colonies see air for a couple seconds while im changing water just a nasty nasty smell
LPS side? nothing
has anyone noticed this or am i going crazy

It's a known fact.

Yes, SPS corals smell awful, especially acropora. Softies also smell pretty bad, especially leathers.
