I've had this happen to me a couple times over the last 3 to 4 years and will give you some things I was finally able to track things back to.

1) Is everything staying constant? Temp, salinity, alk, calc, etc Sometimes when thinigs start going wrong I use to start changing everything just trying to make it better, which I found to be counter productive. Try to locate the issue before making to many changes.

2) Check for pests! Red Bugs... I had them once and I was 100% sure i knew exactly where they came from.... after 4 hours of going back and forth with who i believed was the source he found them in his tank.... They can be very hard to find sometimes if you don't know exactly what your looking for. Red bugs especially in my personaly experience didn't kill the corals just stressed them enough to loose the poping color.

3) Not measuring magnesium... When I first setup my CA reactor my Mag dropped to about 680 even with bi weekly water changes before i figured out what was causing my corals to loose color.

4) I've posted on this topic before and still don't understand why, but I personally see much better results in color using a combination of a CA reactor and a powder suppliement liek Tropic Marine's Bio-Calcium. I only dose 4 scoops a week (would bring up a 20 gallon tanks calcium 5ppm) but it does make a difference that i can't explain with any test kit.... All I can figure out is it replaces some type of trace element i'm missing somewhere.

None of the above may help you, but I know the frustration of not being able to pinpoint an exact problem, so just thought I'd share some of my past experiences and hopefully one will help you.
