I think this must be a world's first in human history. My wife and I found what we thought were abandoned newborn squirrels on our lawn. Being both reefers and general animal lovers we took them in and called our local nature preserve which takes in abandoned and injured wildlife. Unfortunately they were closing for the day and instructed us to keep them warm and to bring them in in the morning. We thought long and hard about a warm place and somewhere where the dogs couldn't get to them. Well, what better place than the sump where the water temp. is a constant 78 degrees and is also enclosed!
They survived the night and the entire family took a trip to the nature preserve singing Wonder Pets along the way. When we arrived the animal rehabilitation expert took a good look. To our dismay she said um... not squirrels, likely mice or rats. She said they would put them in the incubator and feed them nonetheless. Slightly disappointed that they weren't squirrels we still felt good about giving 3 little lives a second chance. All creatures great and small.
