While watching the final season of Star Trek Discovery episode 7 something caught my eye. I paused it and backed up and sure enough they were using a Reef Octopus external pump protein skimmer as some sort of high tech gadgetry. They had modified it a bit with with an electronic box of some sort which included a dial where the external pump originally was. There were dials on the top of the collection cup as well with a light beaming from the inside. I thought it was quite comical. Just thought I would share.
