Starfish losing leg after three days?

Ive had this sand sifitjng star for three days why is his leg jacked up? I have a very mature sandbed.

Around 10 year old tank with a 2-3 inch sandbed thwt is very mature.

Ive concluded thats just the way the starfish looks, hes moving around great right now and seems fine.

Yeah he did after moving around for a little.

These starfish are difficult to sustain. You can cut up a silverside to feed him

I have shrimp that i plan on feeding him as soon as the sandbed is clean, i thought i could at least give him a better life than in a fish store, i usually dont buy starfish but i love them.

I had an orange one for 3 years.

Yes same one. Choc chip are cool. My LFS has a beautiful spiky red and white starfish don't know the name but it's pretty big so I had to pass.

Wow that's huge. If you want a good tank cleaner get a serpent starfish. I've had mine a few years now. Easy care.

Mine is purple. At least 6 inches end to end. Mainly comes out at night or when I feed the fish.
