The wife and I have a reef tank that is a 175 Bowfront, a 55 gal aggresive tank and another 55 gal just waiting to be used. We are wanting to use the extra 55 gal tank for a coral tank. I know that you have to have some fish in it but I don't know if a certain kind is better than the other. We will have some hermits and snails in it also.
Thanks for any help that you can give.

Are you talking about a frag tank? I would limit the number of hermits as some are opportunistic eaters. Keep fish to a minimum(small school of chromis) or plumb it in to the existing reef tank and put no fish in it. Some say the waste from chromis is beneficial. I dont know for sure thats what i heard.
