Are you dosing a carbon source? If not it's a bacterial bloom, caused by ammonia. Which is bad. How old is this tank?

No carbon, 1 yr old yesterday.

If your not dosing I would definitely check ammonia and nitrite. Asap. Could wake up with a dead tank tomorrow. To be that cloudy something is up bud. I would not brush it off.

Just an update, cloudiness is gone and nitrates are lowered, ten gallons of skim. Doing another water change today. No losses.

Branching hammers are very easy to frag. You just cut along the base of a branch. I use a diamond wheel with a Dremel.

I use dremel tool with a plain cut off disc goes through like it was butter!
