I think my tank is cycled. I do need to get another ammonia test kit though. The API is showing the same color every day. Even after I dropped 2 ppm ammonia.
Now I just need to change lots of the water to drop the 20ppm nitrate.
My clowns seems to be staying on 1 side of tank. 1 would swim to the middle and back. But not the other one.
I also added some blue legged hermit crabs
Dang it . Just found this guy got sucked in the jebao wave.. with fish guard on it.
I don't know how long he was in there. It's like he was just sleeping on the bottom part of the fish guard.
Hopefully he'll make it through. After I shut the pump off and free him from it, he was just laying on the sand for few minutes. Now he has moved spot and swimming. All I can see is one of his bottom fin is hurt. And some of his scales discolored.
Hopefully this guy is ok. 2+ days since I found him in the powerhead and possible brooks but he is still swimming around. His bottom fin expand again. So that looks good
Today's update. Still alive and swimming around. kinda picky eater though. doesnt want mysis shrimp. he wants brine shrimp though.
will have my dry food today.... hopefully
Weekly water test:
API Ammonia is still showing 0.5, I'm not sure that reading correctly. Since its been like that since the nitrite 0, 2 weeks ago.
Nitrite 0. This will be the last time I am testing that.
Nitrate 10
Phosphate 0 using Hanna Checker Phosphate. but its not the ultra low one. I bought the wrong one...
Alkalinity is 5.8 using hanna checker and aquaforest alkalinity test kit. This is what confused me.
I did 10% water change. and tested the alkalinity of my saltwater bucket. (1 week old) and I'm getting 6.2.
I wonder if I have a bad batch of salt.
After getting help from another thread, I can say that I am a dummy. LoL
Got my refractometer fully calibrated. Been using lower salinity(1.022). So I am in the process of getting that higher by manually topping off with saltwater.
Also bought new fish food.
Dual function! Just gave it to them and they love it.
Finally got corals: GSP and 2 Zoas. Also a cleaner shrimp
1 of the zoa fall off the plug, so I had to glue it directly. Hopefully the placement will work.
