Why wasnt the pump working? How is it not working, maybe i can help

No clue I sent it out to Neptune today. The lights both showed orange and would turn blue if you pushed the prime button. Neither pump head would turn on.

It happeneds man, i understand your frustrated, but im sure theyll fix it. 90% of the equipment vendors will ask you to pay to ship it back for maintenance. Its just the way it goes unfortunantly. All my dos pumps never failed on me for upcomming 3 years now without ever switching a pump head. Id had about every recommended dosing pump fail on me so im happy. Just be happy the problem happened sooner, or youd loose your reef.

What do you have the unit plugged into? The actual apex? Or a different powerbar?

I have tried both the EPB8 and a standalone outlet and neither worked. I don't consider sending it in because it is inoperable to be maintenance. When you warranty it's part of the deal, in my opinion. I personally don't feel that I should have to pay to ship their broken product back to them to fix. However, it is what it is, lesson learned.

I believe you. They are such a ripoff with their prices and it's probably garbage. I would NEVER rely on Neptune systems to care for my tank I do everything myself!!!!!

That's a silly statement. Relying on neptune systems to care for your tank and monitor your tank are two different things. Personally I'm very greatful the technology available. Having alarms go off for various things have saved my tank, I'm sure.

The APEX has changed reefing for me in so many positive ways. It is by far the most important piece of equipment I own.

I couldn't be where I am with my tank without my APEX. I have nothing but confidence as a whole in it. There are those occasional hiccups that we must all deal with even with the best of equipment. Good Luck.

While I fully agree that we shouldn't have to pay return shipping to have products fixed, the limited 1 year warranty policy is listed on their website and in their manuals.

I've been running the GHL doser 2.1 for the last 8 months and I love every aspect of it. I also run the profilux 4.

I would have to say that neptunes systems tech support system is not customer friendly the email thing back and forth when the customer has had a product down for some time 3 4 5 days is bad for there business model I understand there trying to keep cost down buy utilizing as few techs as possible to service as many customers as possible but at what cost a frustrated customer that wants to give up buy the time they call. That being said has any of you tried to deal with samsung product repair I had problems with a 4k tv when they first came out it had a rolling boot tv on tv off random at the time the set was 5000.00 bucks and there service was a nightmare 3 months into it they finally shipped a new tv all company's large and small are looking for ways to boost there profit margin service is not there focus sales are !
