Exactly this lolBigger tank = smaller wallet lol
Ohhh noooo it’s gotta end at some point! Haha At this rate Im going to be working extra hours until I drop deadworth every penny in the end though..WAIT..it never ends... ;Happy
I feel like this picture applies to the hobby as whole, regardless of tank size. I do wonder how much of that is due to multiple tank syndrome though...Bigger tank = smaller wallet lol
Yes, I totally agree!!! LolI feel like this picture applies to the hobby as whole, regardless of tank size. I do wonder how much of that is due to multiple tank syndrome though...
The kids are growing and eating like pigs! Dottie, the gem tang, is sight impaired. She’s grazing and looks healthy, but doesn’t respond to visual stimuli (except light) and hides in her cave a lot. Hopefully she will figure out the nori clips at some point. I’m very glad that the other fish don’t bother her and she does stand her ground if anyone gets too close. Poor baby.
I finally installed the ventilation fans in the control cabinet and they’re doing a great job of keeping the temp down. Not much other news except that algae loves my tank! Go figure! Hahaha Oh well, if that’s my major battle I’m ok with that.
I may give that another try…last time the yellows invaded her cave to get the goodies! LolHow about doing a nori rock using an elastic band close to where Dottie hangs out and maybe add some flavour like garlic?

I used to do the rock and rubber band method. Now I use a nori holder. Sounds like it might work if you give the others their nori first. How about doing a nori rock using an elastic band close to where Dottie hangs out and maybe add some flavour like garlic?
I’m going to give it another try and offer a variety of nori.I used to do the rock and rubber band method. Now I use a nori holder. Sounds like it might work if you give the others their nori first.
Looks absolutely amazing, keep up the great workHowdy fellow reefers!
I hope you’re all doing well and staying safe.
It’s been a very busy few weeks with the build but I’m super excited about how it’s coming together. I’ve been running a fishless cycle since February and finally got the parameters where I wanted them to begin moving livestock and lps corals.
Christmas came early this year...hubby surprised me with the Apex and Trident!!!! I still have a TON of learning but am so grateful to have a tool like this to help me keep the tank on track.
I had to rearrange some things inside the stand and ended up building a slide out shelf for the ATO reservoir using heavy duty bottom mount door slides. This should make refilling it a breeze...provided it doesn’t get salt creep too bad. I also installed a vent fan inside the stand and routed a duct to the outside of the house to help cut down humidity. The control cabinet is still a work in progress (UGHHHHH CORDS!) Even though everything is labeled and cords are wrapped it still looks rough. Oh well...there’s always tomorrow to get better organized. Lol
Looks greatHi everyone! Hope you’re staying safe and well these days. The tank is doing well (I say that with cautious optimism in this hobby!) lol I’ve decided to complicate life a little more by starting a pico tank. It’s a 2.7 gallon that I plan on putting mushrooms and zoas in. Maybe a small leather, we’ll see.
If anyone here is on TikTok I post videos of the tank and my aquatic kids on there. For some reason I can never get videos to load here. My baby Naso is getting bigggg!!! Its exciting to see him growing and loving life. He’s such a sweetheart and always greets me when I walk by.
