Well starting with the Hurricane.. You have of course the wall wart power supply.
Your output cable has 2 channels.
The connector is 2 separate + , - channels though the - is likely in common.
Output is generally 5v-ish PWM. Frequency ? but usually around 500Hz. Sort of Aduino default.
anyways just testing the hurricane only involves removing it from the system and probing the outputs.
At 100% each channel should read 5v-ish.
As you dim and the fact most meters will average voltage over time (the real output is more like 5v,0v,5v,0v over a "duty cycle") So if you set the channel at 50% you should read about 2.5V (5v 50% of the time, 0 v 50% of the time.. average 2.5V )
Current is low.
Trick is is the + , - "up down" or "left right"
Historically the channel pair is up/down. Do not believe you can screw the measurement enough to damage the hurricane BUT I make no guarantees.
