Stored sand

About ready to add sand and water to aquarium however the sand that came with used setup was stored in tubberware container submerged in water. I just inspected it and there are dead snails in it. Should I start with new sand bs this?

Just wash it and you should be fine.

Rinse it in some salt water and you should be good to go
