Hi guys/girls,

Have had my tank running nearly 2 months now. All water parameters are testing ok. (Ammonia/Nitrites 0)

In the tank we have a strawberry pygmy basslet and 2 common clowns.

75 litre tank. Red sea max nano.

I have clean up crew consisting of a turbo snail/sand sifting snails/cleaner shrimp and some hermit crabs.

All the fish were looking good yesterday and seemed happy and active.

Problem is, this morning the basslet hasn't been seen! Completely disappeared! He had been making a cave under the rockscape, spitting sand out and spending a bit more time in his cave but today....nothing.

I have even fed the tank and he hasn't appeared.

As a footnote, I have just gone into the ugly stage. I don't know if this may have anything to do with it.

New to marine tanks so please be kind!

some basslets are jumpers. I don't know the strawberry basslet, but I would check around the tank, up to about 6 feet away.

I have quite a good jump guard but I'll have a look around!
Just checked around the back and still no signs!! Wondering if he has perished during the night and been eaten. Without taking out all my rockscape I'm not going to find him.

Done some water readings after a 10 litre water change. Ammonia and Nitrites are both at 0 but Nitrates were still quite high at 20.

I have done another 10 litre water change so hoping that brings down the nitrate levels.

Still no sign of the basslet!
