Can i get away with ONLY 2-3 ecoxotic 48" stunner strip leds on a 48x24x16h tank.

Its a shallow tank an i will not be growing any plants or corals. Just want shimmer and fish color pop.

Will this be too dim? Will this grow unwanted algae?

Was thinking of a magneta/blue and a white/blue for a blueish white look but with red pop.

Any insight appreciated!!!

1 48" led strip should be plenty unless they are using less than 1w leds?

I would go for a t5 2 bulb fixture and then 2 ecoxotic strips, if it were up to me. I have 2 t5's over my 50 long and one exoxotic strip and it looks great. One more strip would be icing on the cake though. On top of that I have several chalices, favias and montis that have been doing fine with that. I'm still going though the unwanted algae stage (new tank stage) but i don't think it has anything to do with the lighting.

But i dont want to run t5. I dont want to grow anything photosynthetic. So why spend money on fixture and replacement bulbs and electric bill. I figure why not just add 2-3 strips and hopefullly not even the algae we dont want wont grow.

Im only looking for a bright tank with fish color pop. Reds and blues!
