Stupid question, how do you adjust height on the Y string hangers?

So I have a Maxspect Razor with one of those standard Y metal hanging kits, but for the life of me I can't get the lights to go down, only up? I've tried unscrewing the top screw, twisting the wire both ways, unscrewing the hex key underneath, but it pretty much only goes up? It's like it's got a locking mechanism? I'm hoping this is something simple as I'd hate to have to undo the top eye hook to pull it through.

The wire goes through the "Y" piece and out the side, but no matter what I do I can't get it to go back down! The wife is telling me to cut off the slack but I don't want to until I can adjust it to it's lowest height. Embarassingly it's probably been 4 months since I meant to ask for help on this. Help!

Can you just push down on the top part that sticks out (second pic the bigger arrow) and while pressing, slide the cylinder up or down the wire?
May need to pinch and slide, while holding tension on the slack sticking out. Or holding the light to keep it from dropping too far

Hope that makes sense

The top part unscrews, and I've fully removed it to no avail. But I'll focus on that, it has to be something near that. Thanks

Figured out what the issue was. I had to unscrew the cap and then pinch/push down the screw and then it went down. Thanks, the pinch term clued me in.
