Substrate depth

Is this amount of substrate ok for sand turning invertsbrates just as nassarius and fighting conch I still have much more sand if it’s not (waters cloudy as I just filled it up last night and left powerhead on)
Also there’s nothing in the tank and it has a really strong fish smell is this normal maybe cause I changed from freshwater and rinsed the media and all that in tap to kill old bacteria or is it the substrate I used Carib sea ocean direct

really strong fish smell is not normal, sorry. Maybe run some activated carbon to absorb the smell. Did you rinse the sand? I always do and always suggest to rinse the sand before using, thats just me.

I did not rinse it but it probably will go away with water changes?
