as it seems everyone loves the meetings where we have a demonstration or topic of discussion i thought we should post some suggested ideas to help our new admin out with ideas..
  1. how to set up a refugium/sump and the difference between the two
  2. take one species of fish and discuss its habits, diff types, feeding, size of tanks and such
  3. sand vs bare bottom
  4. diff food types, how often to feed, how to feed, what to feed
  5. breeding
  6. how various equiptment works and what it is for i.e. reactors, rodi units, uv units, chillers.
  7. club trips to different aquariums with possible backstage access
  8. dosing tanks, how to, why to, what to use
  9. the various types of additives what they are for how to use and experience with diff brands
  10. lighting, types, cost, experience
  11. live rock vs dry rock
  12. making your own decor
  13. aquascaping
  14. fragging, when to, safety, how's
these are just a few we could do that would be interesting add your curiosity questions and see if we can get a list of topics going so that each meeting we can learn or do something new

I've been at the shop a lot lately and one thing struck me there is a lot a lot of newbies coming in asking questions.. what if we had a demonstration on how to set up a tank and when newbies come in dave could hand them a flyer that intros them to the club and invites them to that meeting so they can learn. I know as a newbie I learned from the wrong pple (found out too late) and am having to relearn what I thought I knew.. this would show them how easy it is to set up and maintain a tank and get them involved in the club at the same time

Some great topics and a great idea as well there Teddy13.

I think I repeat that conversation on "How to setup a saltwater tank" about 10 times a day lol.
