Suggestions for back rock wall?

Looking for the community's suggestions on what corals I should start to consider growing along my back wall that would make for a good back drop?

Want to be sure of the following:
- corals can be removed / fragged somewhat easily if desired
- don't spread like a weed like gsp
- wouldn't affect / sting corals on the primary rock work on front of it. Mostly euphyllia / leathers / zoas.

I was thinking montis of various colors, or large anemones. But let me know what y'all think!

Some tank notes below for reference:
-75 gallon display
- Two Red Sea g2 115 leds
- dosing all for reef, bacto Balance, and quantum Bio enhance

What I dreamed of doing with something like that is to glue a bunch of these so I can mount frags (in an angle).

That way I can mount any encrusters or acropora or torch anywhere I like.

Can be hard to gotten rid of unless the rock work is pretty uniform, will move around to your main scape, will sting others, and can multiply a lot if you broadcast feed.

I myself am trying cyphaestrea right now, but montis are def a safe choice

The rockwork is made from "oxides, sands and crushed rock". See below link from where I purchased

I see, thanks. Yeah I do typically broadcast feed so I can see the above definitely being an issue.

If your aquascape was close enough to the wall, I could see the monti eventually growing onto the rock.

As long as it's encrusting, it will work. Also look at Leptastrea like a JF John Deere Lepto if you want a green/yellow background.. it's nice when it's polyps are out and fuzzy. Lepto actually embeds itself to the rock which is nice. But you'd need to slice it with a saw if you want to frag it.

I am not sure how the material affects water chemistry. Have you done a recent ICP to check?

Those are pretty neutral.

I've got a pretty nice GSP wall in my biocube... easy enough to cut/scrape off, if needed. I had similar thoughts as you for my DeskMate. I'm currently attempting a Darth Maul Montipora, which seems to be a much slower option!

GSP is one option you can also get multiple rock frag racks from Reefing Art and put some colonies on it

Euphyllias will not “cover” the wall, unless they are walling varieties, given A LOT of room, and you put multiple frags.

You would be okay with most encrusting corals as you can just work a blade across the back glass to get frags. Not pretty ones but definitely usable

I'd like a wall of Stratospheres or GMKs or USM zoas. Mushrooms also worked for me before. That wall structure with a bunch of jawbreakers would be nice.

Yes correct they will not grow on the wall making them removable. One of the requirements of the original post. The back is also not glass. Its a universal rocks insert so a pliable material that looks like rock. You probably wont be scraping anything off of it with out ruining it.
