Hey all!

Is it heathy to have a ton of algae in your sump/fuge? I run my light 24/7, cheato seems to love it, but so does the algae! Any thoughts/comments? I also have sponges and feather dusters on the cheato, will that kill it?

Thanks!
Salt

It all depends upon how much nutrients you have in your system. What light are you using? You can trim back how much light you are giving. Who knows what the right answer is, but some recommend only lighting @ night to reduce pH swings in the display tank. I love watching my fuge grow bc I am a marine biology nerd, but if you don't want a ton of algae trim back the time.
