Hey everyone, I’ve just come across
An incredible deal on this Waterbox 90.3 60 gallon. This one came with a custom sump(not my design) that shows the return pump chamber, ATO reservoir, and just one giant chamber. In total I believe it’s about 30 gallons. I’m excited to work with my first sump.
While I wait for some plumbing parts and live rock to ship next week I can begin planning the sump layout.

It initially was intended for a large roller mat which I may or may not end up purchasing down the line. The same goes with a skimmer, I will purchase it as I need it unless overwhelming evidence suggests it’s a necessary purchase. Since I stock generally light this may not be needed at all, though finally with a largish system I may have some fun with my options.
Should I dedicate this volume to a cryptic refugium filled with rock, bio blocks, etc? Or perhaps a dedicated refugium, something else, a mix?

I intend to grow predominantly sps, gorgonians and clams eventually.
Please feel free to ask for further details or photos as needed. Thanks in advance!

If you run a roller or fuge then the main chamber is the main chamber, one for the return and the other for the cryptic zone.

It’s a strange design at least to me, one of the small chambers zone is completely sealed to prevent any water flow, which is why it’s for the freshwater ATO. Leaves me with a return chamber and a chamber
