Okay guys...I did it. I built my dream stand, my dream tank, and my dream sump. But of course...I have one problem.

When putting everything together, I realized that the only way to get my 29 gallon sump into my stand is through the top of the stand and then sitting the tank on top of that. Thus, the only way to get the sump out is to take the tank off the top. I've never run a tank with a sump and I am not sure if it would ever be necessary to move the sump. What do you guys think? Do you think it will be fine?

Both of my systems have this limitation. Going on 4 years with no issues. If either sump begins leaking, I'm looking at a complete system break down.

I have only removed my sump once since the tank was set up roughly 2 years ago but, like gcrawford stated, the one time there is an issue where it needs to be removed you will have to break down your whole tank. Kind of a risk I don't think I would be comfortable taking (but probably would if I didn't have any other options :) )

If it's not already set up I would have the stand altered. Reinforced with a removable end panel to allow you to slide the sump out. It's rare to have a factory stand collapse but they always seem flimsy to me so you don't want to alter the stand without beefing it up.
