Hi

Trying to tune this in but I’m finding the level keeps going up and down…. Thought I had I’d sorted as it didn’t change for 7 hours…
So I set the Red Sea ato up but it seems to be pumping frequently…. Then going to high sensors then desired level for so long then under and pumps again etc

1am to 9 am it’s pumped 3.16 litres so I’ve turned it off….

Any ideas?

The minimum tube length on the app is 0.5m…. Think I’ve used 0.2 ish…. May measure it out and put 0.5 on… it’s more than I need but it may work better.

Is the tube end in the water? If so it might be causing a siphon after the pump stops

Part of it is but I have a siphon break further up…. I’ve just measure the hose out to exactly 0.5m see if it’s better next fill.
A siphon break would be an air gap, do you have a backflow valve further back? They function differently. I would keep the end out of the water no matter what.

Not using check valves

Found the culprit for change in water level…

Reefmat1200
As soon as it advanced the water lever jumped back up… shall I increase flow through it?

180g system
Tank 6x2x2
Seems a lot to me, but I maybe wrong
1 gallon into a 180g is not that bad. Lots of variables, but to give you an idea in 24 hours i go through 0.5 gallons on a 15g cube AIO

That seems like a LOT. My 20g Long goes through MAYBE 1 quart in 24 hours

My Red Sea XXL 750 return goes haywire once in a while .... basically every once in a while the ATO water coming in to the top of the tank (can't have it go into the sump or else it would cause a siphon) the water doesn't come down fast enough causing the ATO to keep pumping.... it's a 200g tank and i've had 7 or 8g pump in and water level rise to very high ... i then have to open up the valve a lot to get the water down.... this is extremely frustrating - big swing in salinity + some other params ....
