One more question lol.
Who would remove that foam and white fleece Matt and put in a Red Sea reef Matt 500.

Might be a option to look at.

Looks fantastic now, the empty chamber is a great place for the refugium, a little cheato and/or red dragon in there will look amazing. A Redsea reef mat is great, I've been using it for years. Before I used a sock and had enough of that. The foam will collect a lot of junk , great for clean water and bacteria will love it, but it will build up over time and have to be changed or else you will get the opposite effect you want. Also, if that is a large source of good bacteria and you remove it, it can cause a tank death. It is better to force the bacteria onto something else in the tank or something that won't get removed.

Gate valves are nice but can only be used safely if you have two overflow pipes. If you have just one you are fine and if noise is an issue add a cheap oversize cap with a hole to lower the air nose. (I have a picture of what I use on occasion if you like to see it).

I would skip the reefmat... They work of course, but more trouble than its worth IMO.

I am a huge fan of algae turf scrubbers.... Unless you want a pod hotel (refugium), ATSes are just fuges on steroids, and you could put a surf4 from santa monica in that chamber (they float, and need to be harvested every 10-14 days).

Ah.. just notice that its only has one drain, no emergency drain (?)

Emergency drains are used if a tank is designed with a gate valve. The valve is used to create a full siphon drain so no air is going through the pipes. It does this by constricting the size of the "pipe" (at the value). If for some reason the pump speeds up or you have a snail or other item blocking the overflow then you will overflow the tank and continue until the sump runs dry. The extra drain is used if that were to happen and connects to the sump in the same location as the main drain line.

I currently have only one drain on my main tank, so I do get air in my lines but when I want silence I just place the cap over it to kill the air noise.
